This application photo
depicts the use of a TOMAR 1790–1014 STROBESWITCH™ which detects the
approach of a fire emergency vehicle and opens access gates to allow
quick entrance. The fire department doesn’t have to waste time with lock
box key switches and can proceed directly to the emergency.

Function Indicator:
The unit has a red LED that flashes whenever a proper optical signal is
received. The LED is visible thru the viewport and can be seen for 25
feet or more. This feature can be used with the optional Hand Held
Tester to verify the unit's operation.

The 1760-Tester is a hand
held garage door opener style device which is used to verify the
operation of the TOMAR 1790-1014 STROBESWITCH. It uses an ultra bright
LED to a flashing signal. The unit is crystal controlled and operates
from a 9V transistor radio battery. Its range is approximately 10 to 15
