Protect your modem and telephone equipment with the ULTIMATE in fiber optic shielding for your phone/data line! More than a hybrid surge surpressor, this is a fiber optic isolator with five inches of fiber glass that truely eliminates ground loops.

This Surge Protector keeps your modem and/or your expensive Telephone Entry Panel from "frying" during thunderstorms and smooths out everyday communications for more dependable file transfers. You can actually hear the differance! Crackle, pops and other transient noises from the phone company are eliminated. This device is particularly useful with today's sensitive high speed modems.

This unit also acts as a very nice protection from others listening to your phone conversation from other telephones on your line (no covert line taping possible). That may be helpful on a secure line that shuts down... Or it may not be, depending upon your situation. If you WANT to have others listen over your other telephones, then make sure this unit is installed upstream of all of those phones.

Specificaton:
As per the IEEE Emerald book, it would take up to 75,000 volts to arc the 5" air gap
(fiber optic gap) and the phone line leading to this unit would vaporize before this unit's 5" air gap could be overloaded by lightning arc.

Other Notes:
Those two black lines you see between the PC boards are actually fiber optics. So we have total isolation from the phone company and access keypad. This will work on any phone system or modem. We even have a T1 version. This is the only device that we know of that can handle lightning over phone lines.

Only one draw back, it has a battery that needs to be replaced by a technician once every 4 or 5 years. This one is also the most expensive protector we have for phone lines and it will take a direct strike by lighting and your telephone entry system will never see it
